24 Preludes by Chopin is "Medal-Worthy"


The National Ballet of Canada is proud to perform Marie Chouinard's 24 Preludes by Chopin at Dance Canada Dance at the Cultural Olympiad in Vancouver, B.C., on February 13 & 14, 2010. Principal Dancers Sonia Rodriguez and Piotr Stanczyk will also perform with Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) in Mark Godden's As Above, So Below. RWB also presents Itzik Galili's Hikarizatto.

24 Preludes by Chopin will be presented with A Suite of Dances and The Four Seasons as part of the company's Winter Mixed Programme March 3 - 7, 2010 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Ontario.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director, announces the 2010/11 season on February 8, 2010 at 11:00 am. Join us for a live webcast at national.ballet.ca. If you are not able to watch it live, an archive of the webcast will be available for streaming.

Principal Dancers Heather Ogden and Guillaume Côté perform Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux in Tokyo February 5 - 8, 2010.

Principal Dancer Guillaume Côté then travels to Mexico City February 11 & 12, Los Angeles February 13 & 14 and New York City February 18 - 21 to perform in Kings of the Dance.

Principal Dancers Zdenek Konvalina and Bridgett Zehr will perform Prokofiev Pas de Deux at Sarasota Ballet on February 19 & 21, 2010.

Congratulations to Principal Dancer Greta Hodgkinson and First Soloist Etienne Lavigne and to Second Soloist Alejandra Perez-Gomez and husband Theo Edmands who recently welcomed newborn sons. Click here for images and details.

Artistic Director, YOU dance/Ballet Master Lindsay Fischer will stage Opus 19/The Dreamer for San Francisco Ballet this month. He also travels to Lausanne, Switzerland during the prestigious Prix de Lausanne competition to search for potential Apprentices for next season.

Artist-in-Residence Rex Harrington and Senior Ballet Master Peter Ottmann recently returned from Atlanta Ballet where they staged The Four Seasons.
