BEIJINGDANCE / LDTX
Artistic Director: Willy Tsao
Cold Dagger (excerpts)
Choreography:Li Hanzhong and Ma Bo

Formed in 2005, BeijingDance/LDTX (short for Lei Dong Tian Xia, meaning "thunder moves under the sky") is the first dance company in China to be established independent of government affiliation.

The Cold Dagger (excerpt) is an explosive adaptation of an evening-length work, in which the dancers act as life-sized pieces in an intricately choreographed match of a traditional Chinese board game. The work is a mesmerizing look at the "game of life" –in which piece and player, strategy and sacrifice, and cause and effect are shown to be one and the same.

Upside Down
